Rain Rain

The morning after we got back from Virginia we walked down to our friends house to pick up the dog. The kids were excited to get all their rain stuff on and walk in the rain. Good thing Matt loves the rain :) In fact, I think it was his idea that they all walk down. I drove the car since we had to bring back the dog's cage and stuff........

Easter 2013

We drove down a friends house in Virginia the Fri and Sat before Easter. It was a lot of fun and the weather was BEAUTIFUL! The kids had a great time with their kids and the Easter egg hunt they did in the backyard was a big hit :) It was really fun to see them. Thanks guys!!
We had dinner with the ward after church on Sunday so I didn't have to do any fancy Easter food this year :)

April Fools Day

For the last few years we have eaten dinner in a funny way to celebrate April Fool's. The kids love it. We pick out funny utensils, plates, cups.... and number them. Everyone draws numbers to see what they get to eat with. It's pretty entertaining. The younger ones are always really funny because they use whatever you give them like it's what they eat everyday. They don't react to the strangeness at all - which is very entertaining to the rest of us :)

This brown-E idea was one I saw on Pinterest. I told the kids we were having brownies and ice cream. So I handed out a brown E to everyone and gave them their ice cream...... at first it was completely over their heads.  They kind of laughed a little but not much so I thought they just really wanted their brownies..... a few minutes later Jackson completely cracks up as he realizes why it's funny...... :) Now they still talk about it. That was pretty fun and easy.

Caleb

This is often how Caleb looks right now. He loves to have his hair done every morning when I do the girls hair..... since the options are kind of limited and he is a bit opinionated..... this is what we get :) I have tried to just spike it and he tells me that it's wrong and I need to fix it. He loves his mohawk! I think he really likes all the comments he gets when are out and about too. He used to call it a "ho-hawk".

Behind a bit....

These pictures are from last month. Hard to believe the difference in the weather and environment since then. It was 80 yesterday and I mowed the lawn on Thursday...... The kids had a great time in the last few snowfalls. We got 5+ inches two or three times in March. We did a lot of sledding! Caleb keeps asking about snow because he wants to play in it more :)
I am happy that kids can now go in and out in what they are wearing!! Layering up lots of kids and finding places to hang everything to dry are some challenges that I don't always relish. It's so fun to watch them play and enjoy life though that I can never deny them the opportunity.....

Potty talk 2

I thought I would revisit this topic so that I don't forget the experience later..... :) Remember how awesomely easy it was to potty train Caleb? Well, that lasted until Jackson came out of the hospital from appendix surgery. Caleb had been potty trained for 3 weeks ish I think. Once Jackson came home he was having multiple accidents a day. - like 4 or 5. At least they were only wet accidents (except for one last week and the two days we went to visit friends....) Anyway - he was having all those accidents everyday for a very long time. In face it's only been in the past week or so that he has finally started to get a lot more consistent again. Whew. We just dealt with it and changed him over and over but I must say we were so close to giving up and putting him back in diapers. It's been almost two months of that!!! I guess the stress of everything affected him a lot more than I realized. I think I was more stressed than I realized too. Hopefully, this progress will last and we will back to a fully potty trained little boy!
