All cheek!

Everyone is always commenting on Hailey's cheeks - I don't always think they are so chubby until I see pics like this one. She is just all chops! The rest of her isn't hugely chunky...... what a cutie ;)

Ice castle

Our latest creative idea was to use the sand castle toys to make ice castles. It turned out fairly well although it wasn't frozen all the way through it held it's shape for awhile...... the kids loved that it still had water on the inside because it sprung a small leak and they spent their time trying to drink from the tiny stream of water coming out - that's Jackson with a mouthful of water in the top picture.
His special request after this was to make a rainbow castle so keep a look out for that picture coming soon. It's currently outside getting frozen..... it takes forever when we have nice warm (40) sunny days.....
Anyone else have any creative winter fun ideas? We are starting to feel the pull of spring fever so we need to keep busy or go crazy!!

Funny Maggie

Maggie is getting very entertaining as she talks a lot and gets more creative everyday. We were out swinging in the backyard and the swing was squeaking so Maggie says "Mom, what is that noise? Why is my swing speaking spanish to me?" huh - thanks Dora, I think.
Anything she has in pairs is a Mommy/Daddy or Mommy/Baby. As we made cookies the other day it was two little balls of raw dough..... she is a silly girl and makes us laugh all the time.
Don't ya love the sunglasses - she goes through them like wildfire! She hates the bright sun in her eyes but is constantly losing her sunglasses so we pick up extras whenever we find a good sale!

Swimming

We have an annual pass to the indoor pool in Brigham City so we have been trying to go quite often. We decided that Hailey is old enough - so she joins us. All of the kids love it. Maggie was a little uncertain at first but now swims all over the pool with her floaties on. Jackson loves to get things off the bottom so we have to stay near him constantly to help him our when he comes up. He's getting good at bobbing back to the side but still gets tired. Hailey loves it too. She doesn't fuss at all. Matt and I are hoping we can get back into swimming for exercise.

Hailey wants to GO GO GO

Hailey is thinking she would like to get into everything..... She is getting close to crawling. She has the idea down she just isn't coordinated enough to put it all together yet - but I don't think it will be long. She is ready to torment her siblings and steal/chew on all their toys. Jackson deals with it fairly well but Maggie turns into an evil green monster whenever Hailey gets close to one of her toys. Gotta love those 2 yr olds.

Hailey will be 6 months on Feb 1 so she is getting on the go a little too soon I think. I really like being able to put her down and find her in the same spot when I come back but alas those days are gone. She can already move in circles and a few feet forward at a time. Yikes. Time to babyproof..... AGAIN!

Three of a kind

All the kiddos. They are happily having a ride on Matt's back. It's hard to get good pictures of all three of them together..... It's so fun to have kids with incredibly different personalities. They all have lots of energy however, I guess that's good because they play well together and love to be crazy with each other.

Jackson

Jackson with before and after hair. He really needed a haircut. The bottom picture is him making 'snow cookies'. We just packed snow onto a cookie sheet and let them use cookie cutters to cut out shapes. Then they decorated them with snow cone flavoring. They really enjoyed it and it was much easier than making traditional cookies with them :)

Hailey sucking her thumb

Here is Hailey sucking her thumb. She does it quite often - especially if she is tired or hungry. Here she is sitting by the sliding glass door watching Maggie and Jackson play in the backyard.

Hailey - first food

We decided to start giving Hailey solids at 5 months. So here she is getting some of her first taste of "real" food. She is not impressed. She would open her mouth to get it but then act like we gave her something terrible. What a funny girl.

Hailey - 5 months

It's hard to believe that she is 5 months old already. She is such a happy baby. She loves to watch Maggie and Jackson and she especially loves it when they play with her. It will be a lot of fun to see her interact as she gets more mobile. She really wants to be on the go already. She can scoot backwards on her belly and turn circles on the floor. She is also trying to get up on her hands and knees a little. Look out world! Now we have to get back to a baby proof stage again. She is starting to be really interested in toys and enjoyes hanging out in her exersaucer.

She is sticking her tongue out because she is getting teeth. Her two bottom teeth are coming in already. One has broken through and the other is right on the verge - so she is constantly feeling them her tongue.
I didn't have a picture of it right now but Hailey loves to suck her thumb. It's very cute. I will get one posted soon. We are still hoping to convince her that a pacifier is better but she really loves that thumb and I must say that there are times (such as the middle of the night) when she finds her own thumb and we don't have to find the pacifier, that I love it too! :)
